Connecting Kraken to 3Commas

Once you’ve created your 3Commas account you will need to connect your crypto exchange to allow the robots to trade for you. You’ll do this by creating a set of API keys on your exchange and copy/pasting them into 3Commas.

Navigate to the Dashboard tab in 3Commas and click on 'Connect Exchange'.

Add an exchange in 3Commas

Next, select the exchange you'll be hooking up from the provided list. 3Commas has very detailed articles on how to connect each exchange. Here is the article if you are using Kraken— https://shorturl.at/flDG1 (just search for your exchange name + API to find the article for that particular exchange).

  1. Go to Kraken
  2. Navigate to Settings (under your profile in the top right), then click on the API tab
  3. Create an API Key and give it a name (we’d recommend calling it 3Commas API)
  4. Make sure to select all of the appropriate permissions/settings that 3Commas outlines in their documentation as well as the whitelisted IPs
  5. Click ‘Create’ and copy the API Key and Secret Key. Make sure to note both of these down as the Secret Key becomes unavailable after you leave this page and you will need to create a new API key if you don’t write it down.
  6. Navigate back to 3Commas and paste your API Keys into the appropriate boxes

Once you do this, click ‘Connect’, and you’re good to go! 3Commas and your exchange can now communicate with each other and you should see any funds you deposited into your Kraken account on the 3Commas ‘My Porfolio’ screen. You are now ready to setup your first crypto robots.
